This Privacy Policy explains how GetFlyght ("we", "us", "the Service") handles information when you use our website at getflyght.com. GetFlyght is a travel destination discovery tool operated by Marek Fajfer as an individual.

We built GetFlyght to require as little of your data as possible. We do not require accounts, we do not ask for your name, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What information we process

GetFlyght does not require you to create an account or provide personal details to use the core service. The limited information we process is:

Approximate location (via IP address): When you load the site, we use a third-party service (ipapi.co) to estimate your country and suggest a nearby departure airport. This uses your IP address, which under GDPR is considered personal data. We do not store your IP address on our own servers.
Local preferences (stored in your browser): We save your suggested departure airport and similar preferences in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Anonymous usage analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It records aggregate, anonymised data such as which pages are viewed and which searches are run.
Information you send us directly: If you email us, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that message.

3. Why we process this information

To suggest a relevant departure airport based on your approximate location (legitimate interest in providing a useful default).
To remember your preferences between visits (stored locally on your device).
To understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so we can improve it (legitimate interest).
To respond to you if you contact us.

4. Cookies and local storage

GetFlyght does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our analytics provider (Plausible) operates without cookies. We use your browser's local storage to remember non-sensitive preferences such as your departure airport. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings.

Note: When you click through to a partner (for example Skyscanner, GetYourGuide, or another booking provider), that partner may set their own cookies and apply their own privacy policies. We have no control over how third-party partners handle your data once you leave GetFlyght.

5. Third-party services and affiliate partners

GetFlyght is free to use. We earn commission when you book through some of the partner links we provide. When you click a partner link, you are taken to that partner's website, and their privacy policy applies. Partners we work with or link to may include, among others:

Flight search providers (e.g. Skyscanner)
Experience and activity providers (e.g. GetYourGuide)
Accommodation, insurance, eSIM, and car rental providers
Affiliate networks that manage these relationships (e.g. Impact.com, Travelpayouts)

We also rely on the following service providers to operate the site:

Netlify — website hosting
Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics
ipapi.co — approximate location lookup by IP
Cloudflare — domain and email routing

6. How long we keep data

We do not maintain a database of personal data about our users. Aggregate analytics data is retained by Plausible according to their retention practices. Preferences stored in your browser remain until you clear them. Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

7. Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and the right to object to processing and to data portability. Because we hold very little personal data and do not maintain user accounts, in most cases we will have little or no personal data associated with you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@getflyght.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children

GetFlyght is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
